The Czech Republic is a fairytale land of castles and chateaux. The main tourist seasons starts in these places in the spring, usually in March or April. Treat yourself to a pleasant trip to a castle or chateau, and feel the magic of a historical building coming to life again after the winter break. At this time of year the interiors are bedecked with fresh, colourful Easter decorations.

Sychrov Chateau

Every year, idyllic neo-Gothic Sychrov chateau puts on a traditional old Bohemian Easter fair, including falconry demonstrations and old handicrafts, as well as the permanent exhibition of birds of prey in the English-style park.

Buchlovice Chateau

At Easter time the interiors of Buchlovice Chateau enchant visitors with Easter fare and special decorations full of spring flowers. There are also concerts and demonstrations of traditional handicrafts.

Why not visit the Easter Egg Exhibition in the ruins of Helfštýn Castle, and see with your own eyes the various methods used to decorate them.

Did you know...?

You can combine a visit to the chateau in Litomyšl with a May Ball, a well known student celebration which has been taking place in Litomyšl in early May since the 19th century. Despite its long tradition, the May Ball remains a real student occasion.
