2008-12-31 - World Championship in Nordic Skiing in Liberec 2009
The biggest sports event of the year 2009 in the Czech Republic – that is the FIS World Championship in Nordic Skiing in Liberec. The best skiers in the world will compete on cross-country skiing routes and ski jump towers from 18 February to 1 March 2009.
2008-12-16 - Eight different choices for holidays in Czech mountains
Winter vacations do not neccessarily have to mean the Alps or the Pyrenees only. You can also be confident of excellent entertainment and enjoyment in the snow in the Czech Republic. While you shouldn’t expect extra-long ski slopes, you will still find slopes of varying difficulty, snowparks, and bobsleigh and sledge runs. You will also find excellent conditions for cross-country skiing, for which hundreds of kilometres of cross-country trails are regularly maintained. Moreover, there has been a lot of investment in recent years in the mountains of Bohemia and Moravia, resulting in improvements in the quality of ski slopes, the operation of new chair lifts and cable cars, as well as a wider range of freetime activities in winter resorts.

Whether we say Mardi Gras, the fašank festival or carnival, it is always one of the merriest and most lively festivals of the year. Its celebrations in the Czech Republic are made even more interesting by the combination of themes inspired by Venetian carnival and particular folklore traditions. One thing all carnival celebrations have in common: prior to the endless fasting of Lent, people wanted to eat heartily and have a good time, and we are doing this with the same appetite today as we have over past centuries.
